“This piece is a monument to the concept of Truth. It is the fourth in a series of pieces pointing out the importance and the difficulty of Truth.

Building Sculpture is a form of paying attention. A sculpture is an object in space that will be seen from all sides and angles. In building a sculpture, you have to imagine how the piece will be perceived. The variable becomes the person looking, interacting, or walking away. I try to build simple forms, shapes that are interesting to me. I have made a body of work as shapes or abstract forms, and continue new pieces. But, paying attention has led me to build a series of sculptures depicting the word Truth. I have called the pieces, monuments to the concept.

There are four Truth sculptures installed across the United States with two more large scale installations panned. The pieces are made by hand. They are supposed to be interesting shapes, but read primarily as the word. They are reminders that truth is the cornerstone that all society stands upon. Truth is not always good news, and Truth is not always convenient. Truth allows us to function as a society. The sculpture is supposed to be be a reminder that truth is something we should strive for.” – MacRae Wylde
